Heritage & culture

Nestled west of Aberdeen on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park, Strathdon is steeped in Highland tradition and community pride. Each year, the village hosts the renowned Lonach Highland Gathering & Games, one of Scotland’s most iconic cultural events. The day begins with the march of the Lonach Highlanders and continues with highland dancing, caber tossing and other traditional sports.

Beyond its heritage, Strathdon offers breathtaking landscapes and outdoor pursuits for every season. In winter, Lecht 2090 attracts skiers and snowboarders, while summer brings mountain bikers and walkers to its scenic trails.
