Pennan may be a small village but it has a big claim to fame. Its traditional red telephone box became an icon after featuring in the classic film Local Hero and visitors continue to make a call from the famous box, reliving a slice of movie history.

Fans can also visit the Pennan Inn, which featured in the film, while exploring the village’s charming street of colourful, gable-end cottages.
